Maybe this post is a little late since we’re two months into the next year, but think it’s still relevant.
For 2018, along with coming up with resolutions, I also chose a phrase to be sort of my motto per say for the year. I chose “be brave” to be my phrase because I don’t typically go out of my comfort zone so I am trying out some new things this year. The first time I heard this phrase was in the cutest movie ever, BFG, and in the movie this man has to ask for foreign aid against these literal giant bullies. I think this is something we all struggle with: the "bullies" in our lives, whether it be literal bullies or something that puts us down.
Never before have I chosen a phrase or word for the year, but my media feed has been filled with people’s “words” in previous new years posts. As 2017 came to a close, “be brave” kept popping up in my head almost like it was calling to me. So I listened.
Since answering this call, I have tried to get myself to do things I typically would not do. For example: this blog. To me, be brave, does not mean I need to stop being quiet or start jumping off cliffs. It means to take a leap of faith every now and then.
