With the trend of wall art and the expense of the “real” thing of macrames, I just wanted to give you some tips on how to make your own!
Supplies:
3-5 colors and sizes of yarn (typically, an odd number of colors looks best!)
A stick/rod (Now, you can find one outside or go to Hobby Lobby to find a pack of wooden rods, they have different sizes in widths and lengths)
Twine
Now that you have all the supplies, call a couple friends over and get to working! You will soon realize that no matter how many strands of yarn you cut, it doubles when you knot them to the rod.
I suggest getting different thicknesses of ‘knots,’ it just makes it look a bit more unique. You can be diverse in as many colors, styles, and thickness as you want!
Tips on Styling:
Braiding
Twirling
Knotting
Plain Jane
If these suggestions don’t appeal to you, then check out pinterest! These almost
always make for great gifts to give to your friends. :)
